News concerning Smythwicks dogs and their owners Smythwicks Shenandoah Breeze (Breezy) had a good weekend at the Mid-Penn hunt tests April 12 and 13, 2008. Breezy was handled by owner Dottie Maslonek and qualified in two Junior Hunter legs. Two more to go. Congrats to Dottie and Breezy! October 6, 2007 Smythwicks Bushwacking Jenna SH qualified for her fifth and final leg in the Senior Hunter test at Maryland Sporting Dog in Potomac, MD, handled by owner Bill Fawcett. FC Triple Ridges Buddy Boy (Buddy) placed 3rd in the Open at Long Island, handled by Ralph Botti. Buddy is the son of FC Triple Ridges Tom Boy (Sissy) and is owned by Meg Botti. September 29-30, 2007 FC AFC Once in a Million Millie (Millie) took the win in the Open at Bushy Hill, handled by owner Jim Boone. Millie is a littermate to Jake, and a daughter of Sissy. Triple Ridges Cracker Jack (Jake) placed 2nd in the Open at Bushy Hill handled by owner Jim Boone. Jake is the son of FC Triple Ridges Tom Boy (Sissy). AFC Melchris Sunset Limited (Sunny) placed 4th in the Open at NE Wisconsin. Sunny is owned by Rick & Cindy Schneider, and was handled by Rick Schneider. September 28, 2007 FC AFC Boone's Bobby, sire of Smythwicks Bumblebee and Smythwicks Bushwacking Dottie, took 3rd in the Open at Central New England, handled by owner Jim Boone. September 22-23, 2007 Triple Ridges Cracker Jack (Jake) placed 4th in the Open at Southern Tier handled by owner Jim Boone. September 15-16, 2007 FC AFC Boone's Bobby, sire of Smythwicks Bumblebee and Smythwicks Bushwacking Dottie, took 1st in the Open at Patriot, handled by owner Jim Boone. Triple Ridges All that Jazz (Jazz) placed 3rd in the Amateur at Patriot. Jazz is a Sissy-pup and a littermate of FC Triple Ridges Buddy Boy. She is owned and was handled by Roy Hart (Elmo). May 28, 2007 Dale Rismayer reports that Windy Acres Chase Is On MH (Chase) passed his last two Master Hunter legs om Memorial Day weekend, making him a "Master Hunter." Congratulations to Dale and Chase, who are now training for the MHDX award. Chase is yet another "Willy Pup." April 21-22, 2007 FC Melchris Rapid Transit (Bart) placed 2nd in the Open at Minnesota. Bart is owned by Marti Nikoli and Linda Fong, and was handled by Dick Vermazon. March 17-18, 2007 FC Melchris Rapid Transit (Bart) placed 1st in the Open at Green Valley handled by Dick Vermazon. Bart only needed one point to finish his FC, but did it in style with a win. March 31-April 1, 2007 Two Smythwicks cousins did well at the New Jersey trial. February 4, 2007 Smythwicks Bumblebee (Beebe) placed 2nd in the Gun Dog Stake at the M-AHSC Grouse Trail. Beebe was handled by owner Bill Fawcett. October 28, 2006 Smythwicks Bumblebee (Beebe) placed 3rd in the Puppy Stake at the ESSFTA trial. Beebe was handled by owner Bill Fawcett. Cliff Vinke was awarded the Dennis Smith Trophy for the best Amateur Handler at the CCSC Field Trail May 22, 2005. This is a perpetual award which made its debut at the CCSC Spring trial in 2004 in memory of Dennis Smith, the founder of the Smythwick's line. Pictured here with Cliff is his dog Crosswinds Maverick, whom Cliff handled to 3rd place in the Amatuer stake.
